I'm following the CPD23 (Continuing Professional Development) course this time around. I'm mostly doing it on my own reflective blog which is here: http://sheilawebbercpd23.blogspot.com/. However today I also did a post on the main blog, about CPD later in your career, here: http://cpd23.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/cpd-in-your-later-career.html CPD definitely isn't just for new professionals, so I will be interested to know whether many other course members are in the not-new category. Comments are welcome on the CPD23 blog, or here...

ReplyDeleteLike you Sheila, my next birthday will be the big 60! I am doing CPD23 as one in the latter years of career although in some ways still relatively new to this field of work - 5 years. My previous life was spent as a secondary school teacher, about 30 years; that does make me feel old!
ReplyDeleteI am following CPD23 out of interest and to keep myself informed but I recognise there are things I am investigating for the course which I am unlikely to continue using - blogging for example.
Enjoy the course. Pearl
Just to say I only removed the 1st comment because it was a duplicate!
ReplyDeleteNice to know I'm not the only "experienced" CPD follower. I know a few people who started out school teaching and then went in the library/information direction (in fact one of my colleagues in the iSchool was originally a schoolteacher, too)
As a librarian with many years experience behind me I am glad to find your blog Sheila. I have started the cpd23 2012 'course' a bit late but am hoping to catch up as I need to equip myself with some new skills for work and my own curiosity. I am hoping its never too late!
