In a free webinar on 10 January 2025 at 12.30 US Eastern time (which is, e.g., 17.30 GMT), hosted by the Special Libraries Association Academic & Education Community and ACRL's EBSS Education Committee "four academic librarian panelists will talk about how academic libraries can address health literacy and misinformation.
"Academic librarians are uniquely positioned to advocate for easy-to-read materials and interventions to address misinformation and improve health literacy. This panel of academic librarians draws on their experiences to focus on evidence-based approaches for misinformation, discussing how misinformation affects health and strategies for teaching health professionals about misinformation.
"It will also explore mental health literacy and creating education to promote health literacy. Overall, this panel provides strategies for addressing misinformation and health literacy issues, as well as best practices for responsive librarianship and addressing community needs."
