The Association for Library Collections & Technical Services is running a webinar: Podcasts: What Are They And Can Librarians Play? on October 15, 2014 at 11am US Pacific time, which is 2pm Eastern US time and 7pm UK time. It will last about an hour. "The main themes of this webinar are that podcasts have unique and useful scholarly and leisurely material that is easy to access and that librarians can be on the front lines of organizing and marketing them. Librarians will take away marketing and organizing ideas they can implement immediately, as well as ideas about marketing and organizing this relatively unknown medium in the future." The presenter is Sheryl Ramer Gesoff (director of the Health Sciences Library at Elmhurst Hospital Center in Elmhurst, New York. This is a priced webinar: ALCTS Members and individuals from outside the USA pay US$43, nonmembers $59. There are also group rates. The registration page is at http://www.ala.org/Template.cfm?Section=olweb&Template=/Conference/ConferenceList.cfm&ConferenceTypeCode=X; this lists all the American Library Association webinars.
