At the IFLA World Library and Information Congress yesterday there was a session on the revision of the IFLA Public Library Manifesto and the consultation process so far. "IFLA’s Public Library Section launched a survey in 2020 to gather ideas and feedback from librarians around the world" and got 600 responses. People were positive about the manifesto, and so it will not be completely rewritten, but updated to take account of current and future issues, in particular "the public library’s role in enabling knowledge societies through helping communities access, produce, create, and share knowledge equitably"; issues to do with remote access; and outlining libraries' role in Sustainable Development.
