IL test

There is a news story about an information literacy test run at Purdue University (USA) as a competition with prizes (in the university newspaper)
Mahasneh, N (2007) "Competition exercises critical thinking, Internet navigation skills." The exponent, 30 August. http://www.purdueexponent.com/
?module=article&story_id=6793
Note that whilst the organiser said "we need people to be thinking critically now, more than ever", the winner says how "I was prepared to hit Google as hard as possible."

I'm the organizer for this event. It was a lot of fun - both for me and everyone involved. There are a million ways it could evolve.

I enjoy following your blog. Keep up the good work. = )

HI - I'm a library media specialist at and American international school in South Africa. I'm continually teaching info. lit skills to my students. Its great to see a student designed competition incorporating IL skills! Well done - any chance I could see a sample of questions that you used? My next lesson with my 11th grade IB students is on internet search skills - any tips you have to offer?
Thanks.
